Durham FRINGE Festival
Durham's first fringe festival fills small downtown venues with dance, live music, shadow puppetry, poetry and art installations by about 50 local artists. A glow-in-the-dark art lounge at 113 Orange St. is free daily, and a kids' painting party runs Nov. 1; some shows need tickets.
