Theory

The Triangle's economy is anchored by Research Triangle Park, three major research universities, and large health systems. Many employers and licensing boards want foreign degrees evaluated by a credential evaluation service. NACES lists member evaluation services, and NCWorks is the state's free job-search and career-center network.

Method

1. Create an NCWorks Online account and find your nearest NCWorks Career Center for free help with resumes and job search.
2. If your field needs it, order a credential evaluation from a NACES member service. Ask the employer or board which kind of report they accept first.
3. For licensed jobs (health care, engineering, teaching, accounting, and others), check the NC licensing board for your field before you pay for anything.
4. Turn your experience into a US-style one- or two-page resume with measurable results.
